Darwin, Digital Designs and Rounders in the Sunshine for Year 6!

A productive week of SATs preparation, science discoveries and creative computing for Year 6.

Year 6 have had a very productive week!
With SATs taking place next week, the children have been working hard to prepare, approaching revision sessions with a positive attitude. It has been wonderful to see how confident they are becoming and how supportive they are of one another during this time.
In Science, the children have been learning about Charles Darwin as part of our Evolution unit. They researched his life and work, discovering why his ideas were so significant and how they changed our understanding of how living things evolve over time.
The children explored Darwin’s discoveries and shared their learning.
In Computing, Year 6 have been developing their digital skills by creating their own websites using Google Sites. They planned their layouts, added text and images, and thought carefully about design and usability.
The children are very proud of their websites and demonstrated excellent creativity and problem-solving skills.
Yesterday we enjoyed PE lessons outside in the sunshine, playing rounders! The children showed fantastic teamwork, sportsmanship and enthusiasm, encouraging each other and having lots of fun!
