Year 5 have shown brilliant resilience and maturity this week, adapting to working in the hall while continuing to produce excellent work. From creative writing and scientific investigations to Joe Wicks workouts and exciting reading discussions, the class have impressed every day.

Year 5 have enjoyed another busy week exploring the Klondike Gold Rush, experimenting with solutions in science and reflecting on resilience. From adventurous writing to thoughtful discussions and Mother’s Day celebrations, the class have shown curiosity, kindness and fantastic teamwork throughout.

Year 5 have had a brilliant week exploring scientists, practising multiplication and division, discovering Greek and Roman legacies, coding in Scratch and testing their construction skills in RE! A busy mix of creativity, curiosity and practical problem-solving.

From diving into The Explorer and tackling place value up to a million, to testing out rugby skills and unearthing dinosaurs and life cycles, Malala Class had a jam-packed week of learning, teamwork and fun. Here’s what we got up to!

This half-term, Year 5 stepped through mysterious doors into enchanted gardens, ancient ruins, and futuristic worlds. From crafting vivid stories to unearthing dinosaur facts and testing friction, we’ve mixed science with storytelling — with a well-earned reward of woodland dens to top it all off!

At last summer appears to have arrived. The Year 5 class has enjoyed spending our P.E. lesson on the field.

Despite the weather this week trying it’s hardest to hold back the proper onset of Spring, for the first time this year we were able to go out onto the school field to begin our athletics programme.
