Exploring India, light, and Lizzie Dripping with curiosity and cake

✅ TL;DR (Top 5 Highlights):

  1. Reading Lizzie Dripping has sparked big imaginations.
  2. Geography lessons took us on a journey through India.
  3. Maths got delicious with fractions (and cake!).
  4. Science explored how light and shadows work.
  5. A great week of curiosity, teamwork, and resilience.

Year 3 have had a fantastic start to the second half of the summer term.

We’ve been super busy learning new things, asking great questions, and challenging ourselves across all our subjects. Here's a little peek at what we've been up to this week:

We've been reading Lizzie Dripping by Helen Cresswell, and it has really sparked our imaginations! We’ve loved following Lizzie’s adventures and discovering her mischievous ways.

In Geography, we’ve been learning all about India. Did you know that India is the seventh largest country in the world? We’ve explored its landmarks, languages, and the different festivals celebrated there. We are trying to remember the capital city of New Delhi.

This week in Maths, we’ve been working hard on adding and subtracting fractions. We've used fraction walls, number lines, and even slices of cake  to help us understand! Everyone has shown great resilience and teamwork when solving tricky problems.

In Science, we’ve been discovering how light travels and how shadows are formed. We discussed light sources including whether or not the moon is a source of light!

Well done to everyone for your enthusiasm and curiosity – we’re so proud of all your hard work. Keep reading, keep asking questions, and most of all – keep shining, Year 3!

Have a lovely weekend!
